Ann L. Garner

Ann L. Garner [nee Schmitz], 57, of West River, MD, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. She was born on February 11, 1961, to the late Donald and Ellen Schmitz in Westfield, MA. Ann graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in 1979. She was employed at Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher in Washington, DC for over 30 years. Ann was very devoted to her family and was at the center of the family’s year-round gatherings, including countless family barbecues, parties and holidays. She loved spending time with her children, Bryan and Kelly; and going on camping trips, beach vacations, summer concerts and her beloved “Sisters Weekends” with her sisters. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother Gerard and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Ann is survived by her devoted husband Jeff of West River; MD; her son, Bryan and his girlfriend Audrey; and her daughter Kelly. She is also survived by her brothers, James Schmitz (Concetta) of Huntingtown, MD; Peter Schmitz (Dawn) of Trumbull, CT; sisters, Donna Diggs (Paul) of Frederick, MD; Ellen Munro of Owings, MD and Carolyn Symalla (Thomas) of Bel Air, MD; as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
