Sofrona "Sofie" E. Jackson

Sofrona "Sofie" Jackson, 99 passed at her home in Camp Springs, MD on January 30, 2018. Born in Six Mile, South Carolina in 1918 to Eula Belle (Arnold) Stewart and Leland Winslow Stewart. Sofie and her sister, Nell moved to the DC area in the 1940's. She married her husband Joseph in 1950. They had one daughter. Sofie was a wonderful and beloved wife and mother and was much loved by her family. She loved everyone she met and never had a mean word to say about anyone. Sofie was kind, compassionate, thoughtful, and strong in her faith in God. She will be greatly missed by her family and by all who knew her. Beloved wife of Joseph Neil Jackson for 67 years; Devoted mother of her daughter, Susan Jackson. Loving sister of Genoble Lamance, Glenda Snead, Charles Stewart and the late Avanell Sommer and Helen Eubanks. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
