Adam Nicholas Pennoyer Jr.

January 19, 2006 — October 10, 2020

Adam Nicholas Pennoyer Jr. was born January 19, 2006, to Adam and Shena Pennoyer. He spent the early part of his life in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, and Cambridge, Maryland before the family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. It was very apparent at an early age that Adam was special. He looked at every morning as a bright sunshiny beautiful day, a day to do something new and exciting. You wanted to tag along with him to watch his reactions to everything he encountered. He took everyone at face value. His friendship cast a wide net, and you were lucky to be caught in it. He looked at the good in everyone and brought you into his heart. Once there, you were family, and nothing meant more to him than family. Adam was in his element anywhere with anyone. From small children to older people, he always found a way to relate. When he asked about your day or how you were doing, he asked because he genuinely cared about you. He could light your world with his beautiful smile. To describe Adam with words like smart, witty, silly, funny, sweet, loving, loyal, passionate just doesn’t seem like enough. His determination knew no bounds, be it playing Lacrosse or becoming a trombone player in the bank. He knew he wasn’t the best when he started these endeavors, but that made his determination even stronger. Adam loved doing new things. With a gleam in his eye and smile he would often say, “I have a great idea,” and you knew you were in for a whole new adventure. Getting in mischief was in his soul. His inquisitive nature made for many a comical moment. When he was quiet for too long, you had best find out what he was up to. From mixing Grammie’s spices to make a perfect potion to painting his brother with markers. You could not get mad at that face when he would look at you with a sheepish dimpled grin. Adam is called many things to many people. He was Mommy’s Bear, Daddy’s shadow, brother’s best friend, Papa’s Boy-Boy, Nana’s Fifi, and Grammie’s Bugz. To many, a friend, an ally, a confidant, a big brother, an inspiration to others. We all should take a moment to reflect on who this child of God was and what he taught each of us. How can we make him as proud of us as we were of him as we try to move forward without him? Let us all learn to live as he did, with love and passion for life, family, and friends that he did. Memories are now all we have. As they flood us now in our grief, they will be a comfort and joy as time goes on. Thank you, Dear Adam, for giving us all so many memories to help sustain us until we reunite in Heaven. Adam’s earthly journey ended on October 10, 2020 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is survived by his parents Adam Sr and Shena, his brother Aidan, grandparents William and Linda Pennoyer, Loretta Robinson and Melanie Braatz, and a host of relatives and friends.
