Billy Ray Bentley Sr.

Billy Ray Bentley Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandpa, went to his heavenly home October 26, 2020 at Washington Hospital Center. Born on September 22, 1944 to the late George Washington and Neely Cordelia Davis Bentley. He is also preceded in death by 5 sisters and 5 brothers, several nieces and nephews. Billy Ray was born in Tazewell, VA and was the last of the 11 children. Billy was well known for his contagious smile, the forever twinkle in his eyes, and his love for family. He loved each member of his family equally. Billy is survived by his wife and soul mate of 56 years, Wanda Hobbs Bentley of Ft. Washington, MD. Two sons, Billy Ray Bentley, Jr. (wife Tammy) of Florida and James Kenneth Bentley (wife Sandra) of Maryland. Also survived by his most precious gifts – his grandchildren Jenny, Billy Ray III, Jimmy, Brandon, David, Jacob, JD, Hannah, and Sarah. His beloved great grandchildren Tyler, Liam, and Oliver. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Two sister-in-law’s, Emily “Sis” Bentley and Norma Bentley. Billy was a member of the Elks Lodge and ran his own chip route for Bon Ton that was later known as Country Snacks. To Billy Ray family was very important, never met a stranger, always lending a helping hand. Once again, he is heavenly united with his beloved parents and siblings. A celebration of life will follow his viewing at the Camp springs Elks Lodge, Camp Springs, MD.
