Catherine H. Leason

Catherine Hrebik Leason, 89, formerly of Edgewater, MD, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at Spring Arbor of Severna Park. She was born in Windber, PA, the daughter of the late Stephen and Helen [Petrilla] Hrebik. Catherine retired in 1997 from the Pentagon; where she had worked as an editor for the United States Navy for many years. She loved to travel, work crossword puzzles, cook, attend family functions and most importantly, spend time with her family. She was an active member of the Senior Center at South River and a St. James Episcopal Parish in Lothian, MD. Catherine was the loving mother of Cindy Hepner (Gary), Diane Leason (Gary Fee) and Sharon Simpson (Steve). She was the devoted grandmother of Savannah and Sierra Hepner, Shawn Nisson (Pam), Cate Nisson, Evan and Adam Fee and Luke and Cole Simpson. She was the great-grandmother of Lillian and James Nisson. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Catherine was preceded in death by her brothers – Joseph, Eugene, John and Robert and sisters – Margaret and Anna. Funeral Services will be held at St. James’ Parish, 5757 Solomons Island Road, Lothian, MD 20711-9707, on Thursday, January 24 at 2 pm. Inurnment will take place on Saturday, January 26.
