Fannie Caroline Blakenship

July 2, 1942 — April 30, 2020

Fannie Blankenship (77) of Clinton, MD passed away at home surrounded by family on May 1, 2020. She was born in Accokeek, MD on July 2, 1942. She was the daughter of James and Olive Etter. Fannie was a devoted housewife until her husband Bill passed away in 1988. She got a job at the Prince George’s County Schoolboard as a bus aide and she also delivered papers for the Washington Post. She loved working until an accident ended her career. Fannie loved and hated having her family around her. Fannie loved to shop, listening to country music and Elvis Presley. She liked the Hallmark Channel, cooking shows and especially her Soap Operas. She enjoyed going to the Moose Lodge and yard sales. She was a fantastic Mother and Grandmother, always making sure everyone had what they needed. She gave us wonderful memories at Christmas every year. She loved to sing around the house as she did at church while growing up. Fannie was a very strong, independent woman. We love her very much and will miss her dearly. Fannie is survived by her siblings: Jan Etter of Accokeek, MD, Carlton Etter of Virginia, Clarion Peterman of North Carolina and Judy Campbell of Virginia. She is also survived by her 3 children: Catherine “Cathy” Garner of Clinton, MD, Chalres “Billy” Blankenship of King George, VA and Christopher “Chris” Blankenship of Kearneysville, WV.
