Faye Marie Rainey

April 14, 1948 — November 29, 2018

Remembering Faye Faye Marie Rainey, daughter of the late Mary Herder and the late Erie Dunlap, was born in Washington,D.C. on April 14, 1948. Faye Marie was a native Washingtonian and a proud McKinley Technical High School graduate. A longtime Maryland resident, Faye raised her family and put down her roots in Oxon Hill. Faye spent her professional years employed by ITT Defense, Federal Express and FedEx Kinko’s.She retired in 2010 and took full advantage of her free time. She traveled with her friends. She visited all of the casinos within driving distance. Her good luck, charm and winning ways made her a repeat visitor. She was beyond delighted that she lived so close to the National Harbor and the MGM Grand. She would always joke, “I live in a high-class neighborhood.” Faye took pride in being a “Senior”. She became active in her community and in civic events and always knew of latest happenings in Prince Georges County for Seniors. In the years since her retirement, Faye began line dancing. Line dancing became her lifestyle. She perfected the moves and spent many nights curating playlists for her dances. Her line dance teacher said, “If there was a dance that she could not pick up in class, she studied the dance on You Tube and then helped others with the dance.”Faye’s greatest passions were her family, enjoying her friends and the Washington Redskins. Faye’s Redskins fandom was unwavering. She bled burgundy and gold and it was reflected in everything from her car to her clothes to all of the fan merchandise in her home. She was also a die-hard Washington Nationals fan; even purchasing season tickets with her niece. She was a student of the news and current events. You could always count on Faye to update you on sports, politics and pop culture. Faye leaves an enduring legacy of warmth, laughter and fun. Faye is predeceased by her husband, Frank Rainey, Sr., and remembered lovingly by her sons, Frank Rainey, Jr. and Fredric Rainey; her grandchildren, Fredric Wood, Sky Jabali-Nash, Tyler Jabali-Nash, and Ethan Walker; her siblings, Evelyn Tucker (Thomas), Diane Manago, Ronald Wiley (Teresa), Arnold Wiley (Geneva), Vincent Dunlap (Carolyn) and Larry Dunlap (Patricia); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
