Harry G. Walker III

July 13, 1942 — April 17, 2021

Harry Garfield Walker III, affectionately known as “Butch” to his family and friends, departed this life on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 7:30 pm. A native Washingtonian, he was born on July 13, 1942 to Harry Walker II and Vivian N. Walker. He was a product of D.C. Public Schools, attending Garrison and Grimke Elementary Schools, Garrett-Patterson Junior High Schools and Cardozo High School. After high school he was employed at the Statler-Hilton Hotel, The Star Newspaper, Macke Vending Machine Company and The Washington Post. Outside of work he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. In addition, he had a humorous personality and loved telling jokes. Harry was preceded in death by his parents: Harry II and Vivian Walker; two brothers Eugene and James. He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted sister, Gloria Dock; children: Tonya Henry and Harry Walker Jr.; grandchildren: Michael, Tanee, Jasmine, Brittany, and Trevin; great-grandchildren; nieces: Lisa Jacobs, Denel Thompson, Parthenia Merrill, Dalmania Savoy, and Amelia Hamilton; nephews: Edward Cook Jr., Damien Dock Sr., and Eugene Walker Jr.,; and great nieces and nephews. As well as other relatives and friends. His passing leaves a huge void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. Harry lived a long life and yet it does not seem long enough. “We love and miss you, Butch.” Family invite friends to join the Memorial Service on Monday, May 3rd, 2021 at 11AM.
