James Malcolm Petrie of Bethany Beach, DE, passed away on November 11, 2018, at the age of 81. Beloved husband of 48 years to the late Kathleen Mary Fitzgerald Petrie, son of the late James Stuart Petrie and Dorothy Osborne Warvin. Loving father of Diane Petrie and Pam Potaczek, Eileen and Carl Ruleman, James and Victoria Petrie, and Timothy and Laura Petrie. Doting grandfather “Pop Pop” to Heather and Davey West, Sean, Ashley and Joshua Petrie, Carleigh and Patrick Ruleman, and Matthew and Angela Doman. Special Pop Pop to Michael Roy and Connor Doman. Devoted Uncle “Bud” to John and Joanne Arter, James and Diane Arter, David and Sherry Arter, Michelle and Charles Spencer, Yvonne and Michael Carver, Michael and Helen Shaulis, Dirk Rasmussen, and the late Marie Arter Rasmussen and Donald Arter. Preceded in death by his sisters, Grace Bugos, Doris Shaulis, and Helen Arter. Brother-in-law to Robert and Claudia Fitzgerald, Francis and Beverly Fitzgerald, Joseph and Debbie Fitzgerald, and the late Lawrence and Dolores Fitzgerald. Also survived by many other nieces and nephews and good friends, especially on Walston Walk Court.
