James DeVaughn Wilkinson, III

It is with heartfelt sadness that we must share James DeVaughn Wilkinson III, 35 of Huntingtown, Maryland lost his battle with alcoholism on Saturday, April 17, 2021. James is survived by his beloved son, Tyler Ryan Wilkinson (Jaclyn Chaillet); his parents Mary and James Wilkinson, Jr.; brother Nicholas Wilkinson; Grandmother Catherine P. McManus; 10 Aunts, 10 Uncles, and 16 first cousins and many longtime friends. James is preceded in death by his Grandparents James D. Wilkinson Sr. & Mary Gunn, Grandfather Charles A. McManus, Jr., uncle Jim McManus, and first cousin Mary Gretschel. For the first 12 years of his life, James lived in the K section of Bowie, Maryland before his family moved to their current home in Huntingtown, Maryland. He was a huge Washington Redskins, Capitals, and Orioles’ fan but was happiest watching his son Tyler play soccer and basketball. James loved to work with his hands and spent his workdays as a skilled tradesman. He was an extremely hard worker and meticulous, making sure that every detail was taken care of until the job was complete. He loved all kinds of music and all types of artistic expression. With a unique talent of his own, James enjoyed creating works of graffiti style art, drawings, and tattoo designs. Well-known as a kind-hearted person, James was sensitive to the hardships of others and often tried to help those in need. He loved his family and his large extended family and was always willing to help them with anything they needed. With a wanderer’s spirit, James often sought out experiences without caution or self-restraint in the hope to live his life to the fullest. He loved spending time in the outdoors, camping, fishing, skateboarding, BMXing, and the ocean. A Memorial Gathering will be held at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM where a Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be private. NEW GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING VISITATION / SERVICES. - 100 to 150 people max at any given time in Funeral Home. - Funeral Services in Chapel limited to 100 people with five to six (5 to 6) people per pew. - Masks and social distancing still applies.
