John Paul Mudd, of Upper Marlboro, MD died on February 20, 2019 at the age of 61. Born in Washington, DC the son of Madeline Ann Miller and James Lee Mudd, Sr. John grew up in Clinton MD. He became an entrepreneur at a young age. He started he own business mowing grass in Hillcrest Heights when he was only a teenager. Everyone knew John was a self-starter who developed a passion of owning his own business. His lawn care business evolved into a home contracting business. He retired from the electrical union, IBEW Local 26. In the Process he bought and rented out many homes. Of his greatest accomplishments, was his daughter Maryann, who meant the world to him. He also loved country dancing, the beach and boardwalks. John loved helping out the elderly and would drop everything to fix a leak or start a furnace late at night . He would help do anything for anyone who was in need. Most of his renters did not see him as a landlord , they saw him as a close friend who would stop by just to talk or just spend time with them. After 40 yrs in The hillcrest Height’s area he was known for his selflessness and will be missed. Beloved son of Madeline Ann Mudd of Clinton, MD; devoted father of Maryann Moore and her husband Robert Moore of Dunkirk, MD; cherished grandfather of Trent Moore of Dunkirk, MD; loving companion of Cheryl Kitts of Indianhead, MD; dear brother of James Lee Mudd and wife Helen of Ocala, FL, James Henry Mudd of Waldorf, MD, Madeline Grace Hoover and husband David of Mims, FL, Steven Craig Mudd of Waldorf, MD, William Jarboe Mudd of Waldorf, MD, Steven Paul Mudd of Waldorf, MD, Charles Edward Mudd and wife Carrie of Mechanicsville, MD and Brian Lee Mudd and wife Marie of NV. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
