Josephine Alice Mundy

August 18, 1932 — May 21, 2020

Josephine Alice [Saragino] Mundy of Calvert County, MD, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020, at the age of 87. She was the beloved wife of the late Jack W. Mundy, Sr. and loving mother of Jack Mundy, Jr. (Tammy), Margaret Webster (Jay) and Anita Mundy (Sally). She was the devoted grandmother of Lindsey Thompson (Neil), Ryan Webster (Brianna), Ellen Mundy and Abigail Stook; and great-grandmother of Nathan and Grant Thompson. Josephine was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and was one of eleven siblings of the late Joseph and Stella [Maczynski] Saragino. In addition to her children, Josephine is survived by two sisters, Antoinette Bezold (Roland) and Helen Hodgson (Jimmy). Josephine was a wonderful wife and mother. She and her husband, Jack, were married for 62 years and spent their early years of marriage stationed through the United States Air Force in England and various states across the country. Jack and Jo settled in District Heights, MD, where Josephine worked in the Prince Georges County School System. She was very active with the District Heights Majorettes and Drum Corp, Cub Scouts, and Boys and Girls Club. Josephine loved gardening, dancing to the sounds of Big Band music and getting involved with local politics. Jack and Jo moved to Cumberland, VA to live in the country and then finally moved to Calvert County, where the majority of their family resides. Her beautiful presence will be missed. NEW GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING VISITATION / SERVICES. - 50 to 75 people max at any given time in Funeral Home. - Limit visitation to 15 minutes in visitation room to allow for others to express their condolences. - Funeral Services in Chapel limited to 70 people with four (4) people per pew. - Masks and six foot social distancing still applies.
