Laurene Marie Tilton

Laurene Marie Tilton of Owings, MD passed away on November 7, 2020, at home under the care of her loving family and Calvert Hospice. Laurie was born April 23, 1962 on Ft. Belvoir, VA., daughter of William and Paula Geidner. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Information System Management from UMUC and had a successful career in Information Technology. For the last several years she served her nation as a DoD contractor and as an IT Specialist for the U. S. Navy at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland, MD. She was preceded in death by her father William Geidner. She is survived by her husband Russell Tilton and children, Olivia and John Tilton, her sisters - Teresa Clark, Pamela Yount, and Melanie Valdez, her stepbrother Sean McCoy, her mother and stepfather Paula and Judson Springer, her stepmother Darlene Geidner, aunts, an uncle, and numerous cousins, nieces & nephews. Laurie was a woman of faith; she was courageous, strong, and fun-loving. She loved to cook, garden, and nurture struggling plants back to health. She was an avid Redskins and Capitals fan, and loved travel, most recently visiting Hawaii, Costa Rica, and Lake Tahoe with her family. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Friday, November 13th, from 11 AM to 1 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 West Mount Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736. Interment will be private.
