Linda Christine Woodruff

Linda Christine Woodruff (Underwood), 68, of Winterville, NC passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, December 28, 2021. Linda was born on December 5, 1953, to parents George and Katherine Underwood. Linda was the youngest girl of her parents’ 14 children. Linda was one of the strongest women to ever walk this earth, and our family was blessed to have her as part. In 1979, Linda married the love of her life, Larry, and together they would care for their blended family of 6 children, 20 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. Before her passing, Linda wished to share her immense love for her family. In addition to Linda’s family, she had a passion for serving and giving. She selflessly gave of her time and resources throughout each year to provide filled shoeboxes for needy children as part of Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child. Her contributions to this program will be sorely missed. Linda was preceded in death by her father, George Albert Underwood, Sr.; her mother Katherine Elizabeth Underwood; brothers George “Sonny” Underwood, Jr., Charles Underwood, James Underwood, and Joseph Underwood. Linda is survived by her husband, Larry Woodruff; her children, John Smoot (Grace), Daniel Smoot (Jamie), Richard Smoot, Hope Said (Benjamin), Timothy Woodruff (Jenn), Larena Woodruff; grandchildren, John (Nicole), Dylan, Mary, Eli, Jessica, Mariah, Sabrina, Jarrick, Benjamin Jr., Alyssa, Cailin (Cullen), Taylor (Cody), Sean, Timothy, Piper, Bobby, Gracie, Christopher, Saleen, Gabrielle; great-grandchildren, Easton, Emory, Declan, Elijah; brothers, Thomas Underwood, Robert Underwood (Deborah), David Underwood (Susan); sisters, Ruth Ryan, Clara Dickerson (Jack), Joyce Windsor, Evelyn McGinnis, Beverly Etter (Jan), Bonnie Sternack (Alex). In lieu of flowers, Linda has requested donations of any amount be made towards the Operation Christmas Child Ministry of Open Door Church-Bertie.
