Lois Grace Smith

Lois Grace Smith, of Dunkirk, MD at the age of 87, passed into the arms of her Lord on Sunday, May 23, 2021. Born on March 3, 1934 in Washington, DC to Laura Edith Farrell Alwine and George William Alwine. Lois was the Matriarch of the Smith family and the last of her generation. Lois’s vibrant, fiery and fun loving spirit was a homemaker and along with her husband Mark raised 4 children. She was a mother figure to many who knew and loved her. She loved her children but her heart was truly her 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She had many talents, she was an exceptional self-taught seamstress, cooking/baking and she loved her vegetable and flower gardens. She loved serving the Lord, was an Alter Guild member and was involved in the church for decades. She was also known as the cat lady who took in strays and loved them as her children. Her latest beloved fur babies are Tina, Angel and Jinx. Beloved Wife of the late Mark Kerlin Smith; Devoted Mother of Wayne Smith and wife Karen of St. Leonard, MD, Catherine Eakle and husband Stephen of North Beach, MD, Patricia Frostbutter and husband Terry of Dunkirk, MD and the late Deborah Shockey & surviving husband, Mitchell of Cascade, MD; Most Loving Nana of Amanda Barnhart and husband Richard, Raechal Geesaman and husband Shawn, Cameron Shockey, John W. Smith, Cory Snell and husband Ryan, Crystal Estabrook and husband Ian and Jerry Frostbutter; Survived by 11 GreatGrandchildren.
