Lorraine C. Moriarty

Lorraine C. Moriarty, 90, of Sunderland, MD passed away on January 3, 2021 in Solomons, MD. Born on April 29, 1930 in Washington, D.C. she was the daughter of the late Lewis Arthur Coleman and Helen Elizabeth Burroughs Coleman. Loving mother of Thomas Lewis Awad, Christine Elizabeth Bell, Lawrence Anthony Awad, and the late Laurie Anne Duncan. Devoted grandmother of Carla Jean Reid, Melissa Rene Warren, Michele Lynn Ekis, Brandon Awad, Kristen Awad, Kivsatcha Belletti, Jaden Duncan and the late Solomon Duncan. Great-grandmother of Jesse Ray and Cody Alan Sompayrac, Alexis Katherine Reid, Cailey, and Brooke Awad, Annalea, and Sunny Ruel and Great-great-grandmother of Jaxon, Cameron, and Logan Sompayrac and, Leo Clark. Lorraine was a secretary for the Department of Labor for many years. She loved reading, arts and crafts, crossword puzzles and she especially enjoyed sitting back watching her family interact at family gatherings. The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, January 18, 2021 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. A Graveside Service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20960 at 2:00 PM. NEW GUIDELINES FOR ATTENDING VISITATION / SERVICES. - 50 to 75 people max at any given time in Funeral Home. - Limit visitation to 15 minutes in visitation room to allow for others to express their condolences. - Funeral Services in Chapel limited to 70 people with four (4) people per pew. - Masks and six foot social distancing still applies.
