Matthew Raymond Szymczak

Matthew R. Szymczak, a resident of North Beach, MD, died of natural causes on Jan. 18, 2021 at the age of 60. Matt is survived by his wife, Kelly; his daughters Sonni, Hailey, and Michelle; and his sisters Barbara and Christine. Matt was born in South Bend, Indiana on Sept. 23, 1960 to Stanley and Natalie Szymczak. He attended Indiana University, where he was a pitcher on the Hoosier baseball team. On Apr. 6, 1986, he married his soulmate and was blessed with three daughters who were the center of his world. Matt worked in banking in Chevy Chase, MD for over 30 years and retired to become an avid investor. Matt was a devoted father and unofficial swim and life coach, always eager to give his advice. He had a passion for music and was a self-taught guitarist and songwriter. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. A private family funeral service will be held at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in North Beach, MD on Jan. 25, 2021. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date for friends and family.
