Michael Grant DIllman

June 5, 1999 — December 8, 2021

Michael Grant Dillman, beloved son of Darryl and Meg Dillman and twin brother of Ryan Dillman, died suddenly at home in Upper Marlboro on December 8, 2021. He was 22 years old. He was a loving son and brother who bravely persevered through the challenges of epilepsy and autism. Michael’s way of thinking was always interesting, and we were constantly learning a different perspective of life from him. Michael was a graduate of Central High School and was hoping for a career in construction. He loved many types of vehicles especially trains, aircraft, and spacecraft. He enjoyed riding trains of all types. Touring the Kennedy Space Center and watching the Shuttle Discovery fly over DC on the grounds of the Udvar-Hazy National Air and Space Museum were some of his favorite experiences. He always looked forward to the annual trip to the Botanical Gardens’ model train exhibit and the Joint Base Andrews Air Show. Michael’s love of travel and adventure began as a 3 year old with an unapproved solo expedition to the top of the dock bar at Skipper’s Pier. He was looking forward to more solo travel in the future. Michael also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places with his family and friends and visiting relatives. Destinations spanned the USA from New York to Hawaii, but nothing could beat trips to visit his Uncle Dick and Aunt Deadra‘s farm to drive the tractor, loader, and Kawasaki Mule. He was an athlete with Prince Georges County Special Olympics competing first in swimming, but his real enjoyment came from competing in basketball and golf. He also participated in many Prince Georges County Parks and Recreation classes and programs ranging from learning how to play ice hockey to Teen Scene. He enjoyed surfing the web, watching movies, and especially deleting his mom’s tabs and search history after she used his computer without permission. Michael was the grandson of the late Grant and Audrey Dillman and Richard and Nancy Dooley and step grandson of the late Gwen Gibson. He is survived by his uncles Craig (Karen) Dillman, Richard (Deadre) Dooley, aunts Jo (Jerry) Marenberg, Nancy (David) Woodruff, Katie Patton (George Schade), great aunts Kitty Wolf and Edna Dooley, and many loving cousins. He is missed beyond words and his memory will live on in our hearts forever.
