Ottilie Florentine Jackson of Clinton, MD passed on July 26, 2018 at the age of 95. Born in Oberhausen, Germany to Julie Helene (Hauser) Przybilla and August Przybilla, Ottilie moved to the United States in 1923 when she was a baby. Her family moved to Washington, DC in Georgetown. She attended and graduated from Western High School, Class of 1941. Ottilie married George Edward Jackson in 1948. Together they had three children, a daughter and two sons. Filled with compassion and interest in others, Ottilie made friends easily, thus never knowing a stranger. Those who listened to her stories detected human touches and her enthusiasm for life. Her stories told of days when the lamp lighter would climb the light pole each night, just to strike a match to ignite the light. Others were amazed when she explained of the days when they used ice blocks to keep food cold when there was no electricity. She was active in the lives of her children (and later her granddaughters). She loved to do crafts, particularly sewing when they were growing up and loved to accommodate the children on school trips. Her granddaughters remember the fun on trips to the Outer Banks in NC. Beloved wife of the late George Edward Jackson; devoted mother of Gail Ayers and her husband Ron of Lakeland, FL, Ron Jackson and his wife Linda of SC and the late Edward A. Jackson and his surviving wife, Betsy Jackson of Chesapeake Beach, MD; dear sister of Doris Marks of Eastern Shore, MD and the late George Przybilla and Marie Saintmyer; loving grandmother of Samantha Williams, Terri Blackford, Jaimie Jackson and Sarah Richardson; great-grandmother of Shelby Madeoy, Jayda Jackson, Brian Schlipf, Krystal Schlipf, Bobbie Joann Schlipf, Courtney, and William Jackson along with numerous other family members and friends.
