Rosa Maria (Rosemary) Chiedi, 68, of Prince Frederick, MD, went to Heaven to be with her many loved ones on April 8, 2021. She was surrounded by her family in the last days of her life. Rosa was born on July 18, 1952, at Georgetown Hospital in Washington DC, to Attilio and Maria Santi. She is survived by her daughter Laura C. Joffe (husband Randy and stepchildren Mckenna and Brewster) of Prince Frederick, MD, and son Carmelo N. Chiedi of Damascus, MD, along with her two grandchildren Tyler Manion (wife Lacey) and Brittany. She is also survived by her brother Elio (Wally) Santi of Brandywine, MD; sisters Anna Cimini of Owings, MD; Luisa Palumbo of Bowie, MD; and Ada Marinelli of Lusby, MD, and several nephews and nieces, and cousins both here and in Italy. Rosa’s family emigrated from Borgo a Mozzano in Tuscany, Italy, to the DC area in 1952. The family later settled in Hillcrest Heights, MD, where Rosa attended elementary school at Holy Family, and La Reine High School in Suitland, MD. She later married and was a stay-at-home Mom. She carpooled her children, as well as nieces, to school for several years. She was also a caretaker for her Mom and Dad since they did not speak much English. When her children were older, she worked outside the home working for several Government agencies, where she met her three life-long friends. Rosa was able to retire in 2012. Rosa loved people, especially her children and grandchildren and gained great joy from their pets. She had a wonderful smile that brightened the room, and a bubbly personality which was loved by all.
