Stacey Murphy Bishop

March 12, 1967 — December 5, 2021

Family and friends mourn the loss of Stacey Shannon Murphy Bishop who tragically passed away on December 5, 2021. Born to the late Jim and Judy Murphy on March 12, 1967 in Manchester, New Hampshire, Stacey lived the majority of her life in Prince George’s and Anne Arundel Counties in Maryland. The daughter of a United States Air Force officer, she spent her young life living in several states in the U.S. and in Germany. “Stacey was a beautiful person, inside and out” is the expression repeated over and over as those who love her convey their condolences to the family and attempt to describe the full depth of their grief. Our world feels suddenly dark because our beautiful mother, sister, partner, niece, cousin and dearest of all friends has gone from our sight. Memories of her brilliant smile and the way it lit up every room she entered will light our way through the darkness. The sure knowledge that she is more alive now than she has ever been, wrapped in the arms of her Savior, brings us peace, strength, and hope as we look forward to our joyous reunion some wonderful day. Surviving family members are her children, Katherine, Olivia, and Jacob Bishop; their father, Robert Bishop; sister, Jennifer Gooding (Butch); uncle Gordon McCown (Cindy); aunt, Nancy Dyer; cousins, Sean McCown (Julie), Holly O’Gara (Emmet), Erin and Kelly McCown, Rick and Jim Underwood. Stacey is also survived by her stepfather, Paul Baker, and his family. In addition to her parents, Jim Murphy and Judy Murphy Baker, preceding her in death were her beloved grandparents, her uncle Bill, and her fiancé, Dale Altizer. A Memorial Service will be held at Weems Creek Baptist Church, 600 N Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 on Monday, December 20, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow at the Epping Forest Clubhouse, 354 Severn Road, Annapolis, MD 21401.
