William Carter

William Carter of Owings, MD, formerly of Long Island, NY, passed away on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the age of 77. He was born on October 17, 1939, in New York, NY. William was a veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a food service director for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting stamps and coins. He loved watching the New York Yankees, spending time with his family and spoiling his grandchildren. William was the beloved husband of Victoria (Destefano) Carter for over 50 years, celebrating the silver wedding anniversary in August, 2016. He was the loving father of Mary Loise Timms (John) and William Carter (Diane) and the devoted grandfather of seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Family invites friends to Lee Funeral Home Calvert, 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736, on Friday, July 28 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Jesus the Divine Word Catholic Church, 885 Cox Road, Huntingtown, MD 20639, on Saturday, July 29 at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Jesus the Good Shepherd Cemetery, 1601 W. Mt. Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736.
