Anita Maggio, 82, of Fort Washington, Maryland passed peacefully into glory July 13, 2022.
Anita was born April 6, 1940 in Monaca, Pennsylvania to Vincent and Lina Troia. She met her
husband Tommy and came to know Christ as her savior. They were married in 1963 and moved
to the DC area.
After the Beatles era basically ruined his barbershop business, Tommy got a job on Capitol Hill
in parking security. Anita also got a job on Capitol Hill with Claude Pepper and worked her way
up and later became the assistant for Rep. Ileana Ros-Leihtinen from Miami, Florida. After 32
years, the Maggios decided to retire together.
Anita was a lovely, Godly woman who loved the Lord and enjoyed studying His word. She loved
attending church and Wednesday night Bible study and participating in the Lord’s supper. She
was greatly loved by her family and her church family. Anita was always very generous and
very willing to help with every church event in any way possible. Helping the children in Awana,
Vacation Bible School, the Easter Outreach, and Trunk or Treat gave Anita much joy. Anita held
a special place in the hearts of the children. Anita enjoyed cooking her Italian dishes, being
creative, and being involved at church. Anita will be greatly missed by all.
Anita leaves behind her sister Marie Eddlemon, five nephews, three nieces, numerous other
family members, and many close church family members.
She was predeceased by her husband Thomas Maggio; Ana Troia (sister); Vincent, Arnold, and
There will be a viewing July 20, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A service will follow the viewing
immediately. These are being held at Camp Springs Community Church, 8040 Woodyard Road,
Clinton, MD 20735. The burial will be on July 26, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. at Cheltenham Veterans
Cemetery, 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
