Anthony Nesky, Jr., 96, of Clinton, MD passed peacefully Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving and devoted family.
Anthony was born May 25, 1929, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Sophie and Anthony Nesky Sr. Anthony grew up in a close-knit family with brothers Eddie and Ray, and his sister Eleanor. Anthony then enlisted in the Navy, and soon afterward entered flight school to become an officer and Naval Aviator. During his illustrious 30-year Navy career, he flew in the Korean War, served as a flight instructor, and had multiple carrier deployments in the Pacific and Mediterranean. Anthony’s naval career shifted to intelligence, where he played a significant role in analyzing aerial reconnaissance photos during the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962. He retired from the Navy at the Pentagon.
This retirement did not last long. Anthony began a second 30-year career as systems analyst at General Electric and Lockheed Martin. He retired at age 80 to care for his ailing late wife, Betty.
Anthony met and married Betty while stationed in Jacksonville, FL. Together, they raised three sons, Anthony, John, and Michael. As meaningful and fulfilling as his careers were, his true joy was caring for his ever-growing family. This growing family included grandchildren Meagan and Nicholas, and great-grandchildren Arthur, Harrison, Savannah, and Thomas.
In addition, Anthony was devoted to his extended family: his daughter-in-law Cathy, her grandchildren Lincoln and Marley, his granddaughter’s husband Matt, and his grandson’s wife Kendra. Nothing made him happier than gathering this extended family, along with his niece Rae Ann, his nephew Mark, and his late brother Ray--for Disney cruises.
Anthony is survived by his sons, grandchildren, great grandchildren and their families as well as his nieces and nephews. Anthony leaves behind a legacy of love, patience, fortitude, and kindness that laid the foundation for generations to follow.
