Arthur "Mac" McKinley

April 14, 1937 — May 19, 2020

Arthur Lee “Mac” McKinley (Ret. USAF), 83, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland died peacefully in his home on May 19, 2020. Arthur was born on April 14, 1937 in Verdunville, WVa. He was the youngest of 12 children born to Opie Gaiter. Arthur served as a medic in the United States Air Force and retired after 26 years of service. He went on to work at Southern Maryland Hospital where he worked in the Cardiology Department as EKG/Echo tech/Department Head and Director of Professional Services. He retired from Southern Maryland Hospital in 2005. He was an avid bowler and golfer. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Jane Fowler McKinley and their two daughters, Jennifer Smart (Scott), and Heather Vereen. He was the proud grandfather of two grandsons, Zachary and Cayden. He is also survived by his daughters Marla Collins and Michelle Alexander and their families, as well as his sister, Betty Butler and many loving nieces and nephews.
