Carey Bill Ramsey

The family of Carey Bill Ramsey of Lexington Park Maryland is deeply saddened to announce that "Bill" as he was known to most, passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026 at the age of 82, following a brief battle with cancer. He was born on September 5, 1943, to Harold and Cloda Ramsey in Greenville Ohio. After graduating from high school, he went to work for National Cash Register in Dayton, Ohio, Bill was subsequently transferred to Washington D.C in 1966, where he met and married Ethel Janet Ramsey in 1967. Together they shared 59 wonderful years, and raised two children, Andria L. Ramsey and Jonathan D. Ramsey. In addition to working for National Cash Register for 40 years, Bill was also in the Air National Guard and was called up to Active Duty in the U.S. Air Force for 2 years in 1968-1969. Bill enjoyed gardening and was known for being extremely handy at fixing things. He was always willing to help out his neighbors whenever he could, and his presence will be sorely missed in the neighborhood. Bill is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Cloda Ramsey, his sister Patricia Wasserman and bother in-law Reuben Wasserman. He is survived by his wife Ethel Ramsey, daughter Andria Ramsey, son Jonathan Ramsey, daughter in-law Sandra Ramsey, sister Joyce Gustin, brother in-law Tom Gustin, and granddaughter Chloe Ramsey, as well and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Visitation will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Owings, Maryland on July 25, 2026, at 11:00am, followed by memorial services and grave side services at Southern Memorial Gardens.
