Catherine A. Toye

Apr 16, 1937 — May 29, 2026

Catherine A. Toye was born on April 16, 1937, in Indian Head, Maryland, to the late Arthur and Jessie Jenkins. She peacefully departed this life and entered rest with our Lord Jesus Christ on May 29, 2026. Catherine was the devoted wife of the late Colonel John E. Toye, U.S. Army, Retired. Together, they traveled the country before settling in Clinton, Maryland, where she made a lasting difference in Prince George’s County Public Schools.

Catherine was the loving mother of Jo Ann Toye-Chesnut, Martin E. Toye and his wife, Glenda, John G. Toye, and David A. Toye and his wife, Lita. She was the proud grandmother of thirteen and great-grandmother of seven children. She shared a special bond with her siblings: Hazel Outing, who preceded her in death; James Jenkins and his wife, Phyllis Stevenson Jenkins; Fredrica “Rickie” Richardson and her husband, Milton Richardson; Margaret Elaine Waters; Austin Jenkins; and Wayne Gregory Jenkins, who preceded her in death, and his wife, Kim Jenkins. Catherine was also a beloved aunt whose love, guidance, and presence blessed her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.
