Constance Laree Crawford

Constance (Connie) Hughes Crawford, 89, of Cheltenham, Maryland, passed peacefully, Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in the comfort of her home with her loving family by her side. Connie was born January 13, 1937, in Franklin, Pennsylvania to Foster Hughes and Anna Jean Keeley. Connie graduated from Franklin Highschool and married the love of her life, Raymond Crawford February 4th,1955, and soon after became the mother of Raymond III and Crystal. Connie proudly served as a pastor’s wife for 40 years.

Connie pursued a nursing career and graduated from Marion University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1977. She was a dedicated and caring RN for 24 years, retiring in 2001. After retirement she continued caregiving for family members until 2010.Connie is reunited in eternal peace with her parents, Foster and Anna, her brother Eddie Hughes (Beverly), and grandson Ian Crawford, and step-sister Byrdie.

She is survived by her devoted husband Raymond Crawford II, her children Raymond Crawford III (Peggy) and Crystal Whittaker (Mike), grandchildren Tim Kneller, Abby Mathias, Christopher Whittaker, Cecelia Thomas, Garrett Whittaker, nine great grandchildren, and three great, great grandchildren, step-brothers Irvin and Jerry Montgomery, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are welcome to gather Friday, July 17, 2026, at First Baptist Church of Upper Marlboro, 7415 Crain Hwy, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772, from 10am with funeral services beginning at 11am. Burial will take place at a later date at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
