Constance “Connie” Rae Wallace (nee Balderson) of Huntingtown, MD passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 2, 2022, at the age of 75.
She was born in Washington, DC, the only child of Fulton H. and Catherine H. Balderson (nee Mitchell), who both pre-deceased her.
She was the loving mother to John Douglas Harriss, who pre-deceased her in 2017.
Along with her loving husband, Bob Wallace, she is survived by three granddaughters, Ashley L. Harriss, Jenna R. Harriss, and Heather K. Harriss and two great-grandchildren, Logan Harriss and Jameson Connor. She was the step-mother to Sheryl Smith, Bobbi Wallace, Becky Vacek, and the late Karlie Wallace. Also leaves behind family and friends with whom she grew up with in Northern Neck, VA
Connie retired from Verizon after 30 years and then became a real estate agent for Long & Foster, in addition to various other roles and solo ventures in the real estate industry.
She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, watching true crime shows, I Love Lucy, Dancing with the Stars and spending time with her family. She was a devoted Washington Nationals fan and also raised and raced pacer harness horses. She enjoyed attending western parades and cowboy festivals with her husband Bob “Lash” Wallace.
Connie had strong morals, always showed good judgment, was a rational person and was very well-liked by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane Owings, MD 20736 on Thursday, June 16, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm where a Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 11:00 am in the Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highlands Memorial Gardens Cemetery 3270 Broomes Island Road Port Republic, MD 20676.
In lieu of flowers contributions in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis TN 38105-9959.
