David Lamont Wimbley was born April 3, 1978 at Washington Hospital Center. Affectionately known as "Little David" to his family and close friends, David was the youngest of two children born to Judith and David Wimbley. He enjoyed an extremely close relationship with his older sister, DaVida. David graduated from Friendly High School in Fort Washington, MD in 1996. David remained employed at Windstream Holdings, as a Network Technician throughout his illness. David was kind, loving, mild-mannered, and slow to anger. He was the calm head when tempers flared. If you needed him, he was there for you. He loved his family with a fierce unconditional love and enjoyed his friends deeply. David met his "forever love" Monique in 1991 when they were only thirteen years old. Life happened, but they reunited in 2018 and got married on December 3, 2022. On July 18, 2024, at Inova Fairfax Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, David transitioned to be with the Lord after a brutal battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife and daughter, Monique & Alyssa, and his beloved canine companion, Cass, his parents, Judith, David, and Sylvia Wimbley, his sisters, DaVida Wimbley Moore (Anton David Moore), Donica Speedieberg, Tymica and Natika Waters, his in-laws Doris and Rudy, Alan, Andrew and Angela DePerio, as well as a multitude of Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins along with several close relatives and friends who loved him dearly. Everyone who had the pleasure of meeting David knows how genuine his soul was and how much he cared for the ones he loved. He will truly be missed. My flesh and my heart may fail but GOD is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
