Diana May Diana

June 30, 1951 — March 8, 2024


Diana May (Cranford) Diana, 72, of Newburg, Maryland, passed peacefully Friday, March 8, 2024. Diana was born June 30, 1951, in Prince Georges County, Maryland, to the late William and Edna Mae Cranford. 

 

Diana graduated in 1969 from Suitland High School. During high school, years she she worked as a shampoo girl but did not pursue this field after high school. After high school she got a job in what would turn out to be a long lasting 32yr career at IBEW International Office. In November of 1971 Diana had her first child (Steven Eells). Then in July of 1976 she married her late husband and love of her life Charles (Joe) Anthony Diana. They went on to have 3 beautiful children (Joey, Angel, and Crystal). Later in their Marriage they adopted Joe’s nephew (Brian Bell) and completed their family spending many years living in Brandywine Heights loving and caring for their kids and many other children along the way. After Diana’s retirement she joined Silver Hill Volunteer fire dept. where she held the office of Secretary, Treasurer, Asst. Treasurer and Board of Director. Her husband had been a life member and she worked alongside him to help build and maintain that Silver Hill remain Volunteer for many years. Throughout her life Diana enjoyed doing many things including going to family gatherings, hanging out with her grandchildren, vacations, shopping and last but not least, she enjoyed her time at the casinos playing the slots!

 

Diana joins in heaven her husband Charles (Joe) Anthony Diana, son Steven Michael Eells, and her siblings Joseph Cranford, William Cranford, Carl Cranford, John Cranford, Charles Cranford, Margaret Cranford, Mary Cranford, Joan Fittro, Barbara Frazier & Catherine Dressler.

 

Diana is survived by her children Joesph Anthony Diana, Angela Maria Tressler, Crystal Maria Chancio & Brian Allen Bell, her grandchildren Jeremy Eells, Jenna Eells, Natalie Layton, Cheyenne Diana, Tyler Gardiner, Ciara Robinson, Alexis Gardiner, Nicola Chancio, Karissa Chancio, Caden Bell, Lauren Bell, Adrianna Diana, Joseph Diana Jr., Serina Chancio, Jaiden Tressler, Alessandra Diana, Joseph Chancio III, Branden Hamilton, Michael Tressler, Tyger Tressler, her great grandchildren Scarlett Vannoy, Alina Robinson, Presley Vannoy, Madilynn Layton, Annalise Howell, Zade Owens and her siblings Carolyn  Drummond, Deloris Drake.

 

 Some of Diana's strongest qualities consisted of a big heart for anyone she met, an infectious smile, very outgoing, dependable, and carried an inspirational quality about her that resonated as soon as she walked into the room. Diana was a strong, fearless leader of her family and meant the world to everyone she encountered. She will forever be missed by all who had the opportunity to have her in their lives!

 

A viewing will be held, April 2, 2024, at Lee Funeral Home, Inc., 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd., Clinton, MD, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral Services will continue April 3, 2024, at 9am with a graveside service to follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham.
