Dianne Lynne Brickey

Dianne Lynne Brickey was called home on Tuesday,
July 11, 2023, to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus
Dianne was born on August 17, 1951, to the late Daniel
and Mabel Brickey in Big Stone Gap, Virginia. She
received her education in Wise County Public School
System and attended James A. Bland High School. She
graduated from Powell Valley High School. She
furthered her education by attending Knoxville
Business School in Knoxville, Tennessee. After
completing business school Dianne relocated to
Washington DC where she was employed at several
private firms: DC Government as a Staffing Assistant,
Office of Religious Affairs, and Federal Government
Appalachia Regional Commission in the Department of
Interior. She retired from the Federal Communication
Commission in 2017 as a Senior Administrative
Management Specialist GS-13.
Dianne received a cosmetology license and worked in
various hair salons throughout the Washington, DC
area. She was a fashion model, singer and loved to
dance. Dianne was a very humble woman and a giver to
people in need. She was very devoted to her nephews,
nieces, and family. Dianne accepted Jesus as her Lord
and Savior as a member of the Mt. Herman
Presbyterian Church in Big Sone Gap, Virginia. She also
attended the Full Gospel AME Zion Church in Temple
Hills, Maryland. Dianne was preceded in death by
father Daniel Brickey, mother Mabel Brickey, brother
Daniel V. Brickey, and nephews Ernest Williams, Jr.,
and Devin Brickey.
Dianne leaves to cherish her memory one brother
Joseph Brickey (Gwen) of Michigan; two sisters Janice
Williams (Earnest) of Hinesville, Georgia, and Janet
Brickey of Clinton, Maryland; one aunt, Mary
Carpenter of Kingsport, Tennessee, and a host of
extended family members, nieces, nephews, cousins,
and many friends.
