Doris Marie Johnson

Doris Marie Arena Johnson, 86, of Gettysburg, PA passed away on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. She was born in Carlisle, PA on July 11, 1931, but spent most of her life in the Washington Metropolitan area. She was a devoted wife to her husband Francis Johnson until he passed away in 2004. A beloved mother to Beverly Harney, Jeffrey (Linnea) Johnson, Carol (Richard) Lau, and Susan (John) Christopher. Adoring grandmother to Rachel (Garrett) Shouse, John Brock (deceased), Francine (Curtis) Benko, Joseph Brock, Heather (Chuck) Ramsey, Stephen (Tiffany) Johnson and Matthew Johnson, as well as many great grandchildren. In addition to her husband and grandson, she was predeceased by her sister Joanne, mother Evelyn and father Joseph. She was a huge Washington Redskins and Washington Nationals fan, proud of her Italian heritage, loved great conversation and food and animals, especially the family pug "Maggie". But she was first and foremost a loving and generous woman who always put family first and leaves behind a legacy of strength, loyalty and love to her family and all who were blessed to know her.
