Dorothy Jean Kerby 

November 18, 1935 - October 28, 2025 

Sadly, Dee Kerby has left us to rest in heaven with her husband, Robert. She remained devoted to him until the last day of her life. She was preceded in death by Robert Kerby and her sisters- Cathy Kelly, Peggy Pryor, Clare Potter, Carol Artz, and Barbara Parker. She is survived by her sister, Rose Mary Gill of Silver Spring, MD; and her nephews, Charles Kerby, Bobby Gill, Paul Parker, Jeff Potter, Mark Potter; and her nieces, Laurie Cose, Julie Kostro, Krista Potter, Laura Parker, Toni Jo Artz; and her great nieces, Betsy Potter-Overstreet, Ashley Potter-Vazquez, Angel Trant, Leslie Kelly, Jenn Tseng, Emmy Potter, Kristina Potter, Katrina Potter, Amanda Potter; and great nephews, Austin Decker, Evan Potter, Michael Artz, Paul Patrick Stubbs, Kevin Kelly, Grant Parker; and her close friends, Harriet Johnson, Eric Dunton, and Lynn Thomas. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. 

Born in South Dakota, Dee moved to the Washington DC area as a young woman. She worked for an Electricians Union as a bookkeeper for many years until her retirement. In her later years she became a member of the Columbia/ D.C. Moose Lodge. She enjoyed many activities at the Moose including the jukebox, singing and dancing. She participated in planning dinner events and helping with serving. She served as the secretary for the Women of the Moose Lodge, sending birthday and sympathy cards to members. Dee had many friends. She was a people person filled with zest, wit and humor. 

Visitation will be on November 22, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., a funeral service from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., both at the Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd., Clinton MD 20735. 

Burial will be at Cheltenham State Military Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD at a later date to be announced.
