Earle Wayne Hutcheson, 86, of Glade Spring Virginia, peacefully passed away in his sleep on August 26, 2024.
He was born in Washington County, Virginia to his beloved parents William and Eulalia Hutcheson.
He was keen of mind and a wicked storyteller. He was a loving and loyal husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and forever an Airman.
The military may have been Earle's first love, but it was no match for the love of his life, Carolyn Ann "White" Hutcheson.
Earle and Carolyn is truly an American love story. From Child hood sweet hearts their snarky adolescent infatuation blossomed into a fruitful and spirited bond that culminated in story book marriage in 1962.
Earle developed his love for horses from his father who was a horse trainer. In fact, Earle enjoyed everything outdoors. He was a lifelong fisherman and always enjoyed playing and later in life watching sports. As example, he was a star high school football and baseball player. He excelled enough at baseball to earn a tryout with the Pittsburg Pirates as a pitcher.
What many people don't know is that Earle had varied interests outside of sports. First he loved music. Earle could listen to any song and immediately play it back from memory. Quite the accomplished pianist and guitarist, Earle spent many long hours listening, playing, and making music. Simply put, music settled his soul.
Hobbies. Every year Earle watched the Air show. This coincided with his passion of plane watching. He shared that passion with his children. A passion that his daughter, Andrea, continues to enjoy till this day... Next up is car racing.
Whenever there was never a INDY 500 he did not watch. He was into everything and anything NASCAR! This passion was second only to horse racing. Watching horse and car races fulfilled him. But only one thing completed him: Carolyn and the children.
He was and has remained enamored with planes. That is why he joined the Air Force. Of all his duties he most liked driving tractor trailers and loading B52 bombers.
Laid back and kind, Earle enjoyed the Air Force with every breathe of life. That is why he served 20 years and then retired. However, during this span, two duty stations were his favorite: Alaska and Turkey. There cultures were breathtaking, majestic, and simply unforgettable.
Earle loved his family fiercely learning on the job about being a father to Aaron, Darrell, and Andrea. Earl had 3 brothers a sister, nieces, nephews, and a hosts of cousins and relatives.
