In Loving Memory of Eddy Fuentes Frayna

Eddy Fuentes Frayna, 74, of Clinton, Maryland, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Eddy was born on June 22, 1952, in Manila, Philippines, to Leonor Eufena Frayna and Isabel Fuentes Frayna. He grew up in Manila and attended Adamson University, where he pursued the education that would lead to his career as a professional electrical engineer.

In 1975, Eddy left the Philippines and came to the United States in pursuit of a better life and greater opportunities. His arrival in America would also mark the beginning of one of the most important chapters of his life. When Eddy arrived in Dallas, Texas, his sister asked her friend Erlinda to pick him up from the airport. That introduction brought Eddy and Erlinda together for the first time and became the beginning of a life they would build together. They married in 1977 and went on to share nearly five decades of marriage, raising their family and creating a lifetime of memories together.

Eddy spent most of his professional career working as an electrical engineer throughout the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. His intelligence and dedication were evident not only in his profession but also at home. When his children were young, he always made time to sit with them and help with their studies, patiently sharing his knowledge and making sure they had what they needed to succeed.

As accomplished as Eddy was professionally, his family will remember him most for something much simpler: he took care of people.

Eddy was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, supportive brother, and loyal friend. If someone he cared about needed him, he was there. He consistently put the needs of others before his own and wanted to make sure the people around him were taken care of. His children grew up knowing that they could always turn to their dad for help, guidance, or support.

He also knew how to have fun. Eddy had a wonderful sense of humor and loved making people laugh, while also knowing when it was time to be serious. He enjoyed watching boxing and had a genuine love for the sport. He also appreciated good food—especially Erlinda's pork ribs and pancit—and enjoyed the simple pleasure of sharing a good meal with the people he loved.

Eddy's life was also touched by extraordinary friendship and generosity. When he was in need of a kidney transplant, James Potter, a friend of his daughter Aileen, selflessly offered to become his kidney donor. James's remarkable gift gave Eddy something immeasurable: more time—time with his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and the family he loved so deeply. His family will forever remain grateful for that gift.

Eddy is survived by his beloved wife, Erlinda Frayna; his children, Edward and his wife Rachel, Aileen and her husband James, and Alexander and his wife Liza; and his grandchildren, Alexis, Dominic, Lucas, AJ, and Liam.

He is also survived by his siblings Ester Frayna Gaano, Miguel Frayna, Leonida Frayna Callihan, and Christina Frayna Manlapaz, along with extended family and many friends whose lives he touched.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonor Eufena Frayna and Isabel Fuentes Frayna, and his sister, Violeta Frayna Rabara.

Eddy leaves behind a legacy that cannot be measured simply by his professional accomplishments or the years of his life. His legacy lives in the family he built, the children he guided, the grandchildren he adored, the friendships he maintained, and the countless ways—large and small—that he looked after the people around him.

He spent his life taking care of others. His family will carry that love, generosity, humor, and devotion with them always.

Funeral Services

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during a viewing on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home.

A wake will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 9:45 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Clinton, Maryland, followed by a Funeral Mass from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Eddy will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Eddy. Your family will always love you, and the care you gave so freely to others will live on through them.
