Edwin David Cabrera Jr, 61, of Owings, MD passed away on April 22nd, 2024. He was born July 03,1962 in Prince Georges County MD to Edwin and Doris Cabrera. Graduating from Largo High school, Edwin went on to pursue his long career of 39 years as a Correctional Officer with Prince Georges County, where he retired in September 2023.
Beyond his professional achievements, Edwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was cruising on his Harley with friends, taking a spin in his cherished 1955 Belair or 2014 SS Chevy Camaro, or exploring different tracks and car meets, he embraced every moment with enthusiasm. His love for family was evident in every action, especially when spoiling his granddaughter, Kehlani. Edwin's childhood adventures were in Queen Anne where he fished, hunted, and rode dirt bikes.
Edwin is survived by his father Edwin David Cabrera, his children Alisha J. Cabrera and David J. Cabrera . Brother’s Luis Cabrera and Alberto Cabrera, sisters Rose M Cabrera, Cassandra Anne Cabrera-Feliciano, and Cimone Anaise Cabrera. Grandchildren Kehlani Louise Edwards, Kourtni Hatton, Kathleen Readinger and Cullen Schuettler along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his wife Diane Lousie Cabrera, his mother Doris Marie Cabrera, siblings Lisa Y. Cabrera, Edwin David Cabrera 3rd.
In Edwin's passing, we celebrate a life well-lived, defined by love, laughter, and a spirit of adventure. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts and memories.
