Ella Faith Gould

December 14, 1929 — November 16, 2021

Ella Faith Mulligan Gould (91), a native of Washington D.C., lived from Dec. 14, 1929 to Nov. 16, 2021. The world was richer for her time among us. Born to Loretta Quinn and Fred Mulligan, she was the last surviving child of the six Mulligan children: Billy, Libby, Virginia, Ella, Jimmy, Ralph (Peanut), and “Skippy”. Throughout her life, Ella worked as a secretary in many places including the telephone company, The Smithsonian Institution, a doctor’s office, and NOAA. Ella met and married Willard Gene Gould in Georgetown, Washington D.C. They became a military family as Willard served in the United States Navy for over 27 years. Ella dutifully supported Will in his career, which took them and their three children, David Allen, Debra Lynn, and Derrick Lee, all over the world to places such as Maryland, Bermuda, Colorado, Alaska, Japan, Minnesota, Hawaii, and Guam. After a battle with cancer, Ella was determined to settle back in Maryland so she could be close to friends and family, and that is where she spent the remainder of her life. She became the beloved “MamMa” to all who knew her. Ella never missed a birthday, baptism, dance or piano recital, sporting event, or special occasion. No party was complete without MamMa there as the Guest of Honor! She organized numerous Mulligan Family Reunions and ensured that everyone was made to feel loved and included. Ella was an avid singer and participated in several singing groups for seniors including “The Patuxent Pearls” and “The Variety Players”. These singing groups performed at various venues throughout the Calvert County region for nonprofit organizations. Ella Faith was a devout member of the Methodist Church where she worshipped and served throughout her life. She is survived by her son David Gould (Cheryl), her daughter Debra Krehbiel (John), 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Family will receive friends at the Lee Funeral Home Calvert, P.A., 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on Monday, November 29, 2021 from 3:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 90 Church St., Prince Frederick, MD 20678 followed immediately by the burial at Southern Memorial Gardens 10155 Ward Road Dunkirk, MD 20754.
