Evelyn Johnson King passed away peacefully on November 22, 2023. She was born April 13, 1929 in Cheltenham, MD to the late John and Cora Johnson. In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her brothers Howard and Carter, and her sisters Ruth, Teresa, Margaret, and Jestine.

 

Evelyn graduated from Frederick Douglass High School in Upper Marlboro, MD. Her hobbies included shopping, sewing, reading, and staying in touch through phone calls and written letters with her family and friends. Evelyn will be remembered as a kind and loving sister, mother, and grandmother.

 

As an in-home caregiver, Evelyn brought comfort and joy to those facing difficult times. Her sincere care created lasting connections, making her a beloved presence in the homes she entered. Her kindness and attentiveness made a profound impact on the lives she touched.

 

She is survived by her brothers John and Sylvester, her sisters Mary and Peggy, and her grandchildren, Jordan and Amanda.
