Freddie Thomas White, 84, of Clinton, MD passed away April 7, 2023.
Fred was born September 30, 1938, in Bradshaw, WV, to the late Archie and Hettie White. He graduated from Baileysville High School where he was later inducted into their Hall of Fame. Fred served an apprenticeship for watchmaking under his cousin at Virginia Ann Jewelers in Bluefield, VA. He was a watchmaker and jeweler owning a jewelry store in his community for over 30 years and continued to do watchmaking after he closed his jewelry store. He continued taking classes in watchmaking and became a CMW21 which he was very proud of. His passion was watchmaking. Fred enjoyed oil painting and feeding his birds while watching them as he ate his breakfast. He is a Mason belonging to Perseverance Lodge #208 in Indian Head, MD. He is past President of American Watch and Clockmakers Institute. He was also very active in the Horological Association of VA where he currently was the President.
In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Lillie Emily and his Granddog Shadow.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of over 64 years Shirley White, his daughter Michelle White, son Danny White Sr., Goddaughter Michelle Shanks (Wally), 3 grandchildren, grandson Danny White Jr. (Kaitlyn), granddaughter Laura Cessna (Glen), grandson Nicholas White (Brooke), 4 great grandchildren, a sister Martha Beam along with several nieces and nephews and special friends.
A visitation will be held 6:00pm-8:00pm Wednesday April 12, 2023, at Lee Funeral Home, 6633 Old Alexandria Ferry Rd. Clinton, MD 20735. A funeral service will take place at the same location the following day, Thursday April 13, at 10:00am with Dr. Carl H. Snyder officiating, immediately followed by interment at Trinity Cemetery, 3221 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20601.
