Fredrick Ashkii Zhoni "Chuck" Tsinnie, 79, of Tuba City, AZ, passed away on March 31, 2024, in Clinton, MD. Chuck was born on November 11, 1944. He proudly served in the Air Force for 27 years before retiring. Following his military service, he dedicated 26 years to Andrews Air Force Base’s Moral Welfare and Recreation Marketing Department. Chuck was a skilled bow maker, silversmith, pen and ink artist, painter, graphics illustrator, and woodworker. He was a man of many talents and a true artist at heart.
Chuck was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He cherished spending time with his family, watching old westerns, and sharing his Diné (Navajo) culture. His first language was Diné, and he took great pride in educating others about his heritage.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Danita Tsinnie; daughters, Katrina Litz, Natika Tsinnie, and Marie Tsinnie; grandchildren, Emerson Litz, River Litz, Vanessa Hollinger, Patrick Eukel, Jesse Harvey, and Emma Tsinnie; sister, Tomasita Tsinnie. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Tsinnie, mother Mary Tsinnie, father Thomas Tsinnie, sisters Ruby Tsinnie, Angie Tsinnie, and Tillie Tsinnie.
A celebration of life will be held at Lee Funeral Home in Clinton, MD, on April 7, 2024. The visitation will take place from 1-2 pm, followed by an informal service at 2 pm. Burial at Arlington National Cemetery will be conducted at a later date. Lee Funeral Home is honored to assist with the arrangements for Chuck's final farewell.
Chuck will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love, kindness, and artistic talent will forever be remembered by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
