George Edward McKinley Sr., 92, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026. Born on October 22, 1933, in Webster, South Dakota, George lived a life defined by hard work, service, devotion to his family, and quiet strength.

George was the beloved son of John Austin McKinley and Rose Antonia (Karpen) McKinley. He graduated from Bladensburg High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. Following his military service, he founded and operated G.E. McKinley Company, Inc., where his dedication, integrity, and unwavering work ethic earned the respect of colleagues, customers, and friends.

George shared a loving and enduring marriage with his beloved wife, Barbara Ann (Farrell) McKinley. Together, they built a family that became the center of his life and his greatest source of pride.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his children, George McKinley Jr., Kathryn Davis (Timothy), Mark McKinley, and Sharon Donovan; and his cherished grandchildren, Timothy Davis Jr. (Monica), Matthew McKinley (Leah), Emily Hysell (Chris), William Donovan Jr. (Brooke), Sean Donovan (Taylor Grass), Kyle Donovan (Ashleigh Hill), and Tyler Donovan. He is also survived by his siblings, Mary Rose Jochum, John McKinley Jr., and Alice Louise Day, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

George will be remembered for his unwavering commitment to his family, his humble nature, and his willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. Whether serving his country, providing for his family through his business, or simply offering quiet wisdom and encouragement, he lived with honor, perseverance, and compassion. The example he set through his faithfulness, integrity, and love for those around him will continue to inspire all who knew him.

While his passing leaves an immeasurable void, George's legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply and in the countless lives he touched throughout his 92 years. He will be remembered with love, gratitude, and admiration by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
