Gloria Virginia (Whitmire) O'Brien of Lusby, Maryland, passed away at home on March 2, 2023. She was born November 16, 1927, in Washington, DC to Ora L. and Mary G. Whitmire. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, T. Richard (Dick) O'Brien, Jr. and her son, Richard E. O'Brien, and her parents, and brother, David L Whitmire.
Gloria is survived by two daughters; Marsha (Darryl) Gray of Bridgeville, DE and Karen (Jim) Murray of Port Charlotte, FL. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Colleen and Shannon O'Brien, Erin and Jimmy Murray, and Tori Gray. Gloria is also survived by one great-granddaughter, Raelynn Murray. She is also survived by two nieces and a nephew.
The family will receive friends at Lee Funeral Home Calvert 8200 Jennifer Lane, Owings, MD 20736 on March 29, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held on March 30, 2023 at 11:00 am at Lee Funeral Home Calvert. Interment will follow at Maryland Veterans Cemetery 11301 Crain Highway, Cheltenham, MD 20623.
