Helena Mary Sorg

With heavy hearts and deep love we announce the passing of our mother, Helena Mary Elizabeth Sorg, née Quirk, at the age of 104, on December 14, 2025. She was born on November 9, 1921, in Moncton, Sussex Canada. At 18, she enlisted in the RCAF, serving her country from July 31, 1942 to February 9, 1944. There she met her future husband, an American, William Sorg. On September 15, 1943 they married. Shortly, they moved to the US; together raising a family of 7 siblings.

Always the devout wife, beloved Mother, her love of family, fervent faith, and warm personality will always be remembered.

In addition to her parents and 6 siblings she preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her daughter Caroline, and sons Thomas and Michael.

She is survived by Brian, Curt, Michelle, Susan, Jimmy; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren.

On December 23, 2025, at St. John's Church, 8908 Old Branch Avenue, Clinton, MD 20735 a viewing will be held from 10:00 am - 10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Burial services will be determined by Arlington National Cemetery at a future date.
