Ignatius Gardiner Edelen Jr

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ignatius Gardiner Edelen Jr., a beloved husband, father, brother, son and friend, who departed this world on June 20, 2025, at the age of 89. Born in the heart of Maryland, Ignatius, dedicated his life to the craft of masonry, imparting strength and stability not just in his work, but in the lives of all who were fortunate to know him. 

With a spirit as solid as the structures he built, Ignatius thrived as a salesman in the masonry industry, where his charismatic presence and enduring dedication left a lasting impact on colleagues and clients alike. He embodied the values of hard work and perseverance, diligently balancing his profession with cherished moments spent with his family.

 Ignatius is survived by his loving children, Joseph Edelen, Deborah Inman, and son John Bowling, who will forever carry the fond memories of a father who instilled in them the importance of family and resilience. He also leaves behind his devoted son-in-law, Kenneth Inman, his daughter-in-law's Kathleen Wyvill Edelen and Caroline Bowling, his cherished brother, Richard Edelen and 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Each of them holds a testament to his remarkable character, marked by kindness, strength, and unwavering support.

Ignatius was preceded in death by" his wife Bette Edelen, his parents Ignatius Edelen Sr, Marybeth Bowling Edelen, his son Marcus Edelen, and his two brother’s Dominic Bowling Edelen, and Wallace Nalle Edelen.
