James Vanessa Chaney, 81, passed away October 28th 2025. He was a long time resident of Accokeek MD.
Jimmy as his family knew him was born January 9th 1944 in Washington District of Columbia. He was the first born son of Elmer and Frances Chaney.
He is survived by his younger brother Randy. His first born daughter Tabby and his baby girl Crystal. 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. His step children Richard, Michael and Mary. Many nieces and nephews.
Jimmy worked in a variety of fields during his lifetime including school custodian, Parts delivery, construction, and lawn mower repair. He loved working on lawn movers. He had lots of plans on how to build them to race.
He was a car enthusiasts. Definitely a Ford man all the way. He enjoyed collecting and building model cars. Racing Slot Cars.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father and mother and his beloved sister Kathleen. Kathleen and he shared a home and would fuss at each other. They could do that but no one else better say a word about either.
When asked Violet wanted everyone to know Jimmy was a good dad and a kind hearted man. What Jimmy would want his family to remember is his love for them.
Patsy his Life Partner of over 30 years passed in August 2018. He never stopped loving her or thinking of her. When she left she took his sunshine. They are now joined hand in hand forever.
