James (Jim) Haydon, 76, of Camp Springs, Maryland, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 27, 2026. Jim was born in Wheaton, Maryland to Elaine and Robert Haydon. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Ruth (Pennington); his two daughters, Elizabeth Haydon (Anthony Staiti) and Kathryn Curtis (Daniel); his brother Dennis Haydon (Kristine), and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jim was a graduate of Wheaton High School (1968) and Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia (1972). He was employed by government contractors at several places including Pax River Naval Air Station.
Jim was a member of The Gideons International, Good News Jail Ministry, and The Homeless Outreach. He has been a member of Clinton Grace Church for over 30 years where he was involved in various ministries. He loved playing his flute whenever there was an opportunity: in the church praise team; in a small concert for friends; or for passersby in Old Town Alexandria. One of his favorite places to fellowship and spend time with God was Sandy Cove Ministries in North East, Maryland.
Services will be held at Clinton Grace Church, 6501 Surratts Road, Clinton, Maryland.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM, followed by service at 2 PM, and fellowship at 3 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Gideons International, The Homeless Outreach, or Sandy Cove Ministries.
