James Thomas "JT" Kady

James Thomas Kady (Age 70) On June 1, 2024, James Thomas Kady passed away peacefully. Known as “JT” to friends and family or “Big” to the grandkids, he was born in Cumberland, Maryland to Donald and Marjorie Kady on June 15, 1953. He grew up in New Carrollton, Maryland. JT  attended Augusta Military Academy in Staunton, Virginia and graduated from Parkdale High School in 1972. He received his Associate’s Degree from Prince George’s Community College in Physical Education. JT worked a multitude of jobs over the years. He worked for PG County Schools as well as Calvert County Schools. He also delivered flowers for Karen’s of Calvert Florist. JT married Kathryn Anne MacLean in 1982. They settled in Huntingtown, MD in 2001, where they raised their two children, Kevin Kady (Katelyn) and Kelly Bland (Herbert). JT was an active parent with his children’s sports. He was also locally active in the Huntingtown High School Athletic Department. JT was well known for kindness and willingness to give you the shirt off of his back. He was always the life of the party and will be greatly missed by all. JT is survived by one son, Kevin and his wife Katelyn, of Huntingtown, and one daughter, Kelly and her husband Herbert Bland of Richlands, NC; five grandchildren, Trey, Trenton (Chop), Kady Grace, Hudson, and Kooper (arriving in late June); his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rupert and Joan MacLean, of Annapolis, MD; one sister, Kathy (Kady) D’Annunzio and her husband Mark of Delray Beach, Florida; two sisters-in-law Donna Gunning and her husband Brian of Millersville, MD and Mary Pat Bromwell and her husband Tommy of Baltimore, MD; two brothers-in-law, Scott MacLean and his wife Belinda, of King George, VA and Duncan MacLean and his wife Sherri of Frisco, TX. JT also had a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
