After battling a prolonged illness, James Earl Richardson, Sr., 84, of Dunkirk, MD, formerly Croom, MD, died March 16, 2023 at Autumn Lake Nursing Healthcare in Crofton, MD. Born in 1938 in Brandywine, MD, he was the youngest son of William Franklin Richardson and Martha Boswell Richardson. He retired after 25 years as a skilled glazier in the DC Metro area, opened his own window company and later became a commercial locksmith. Affectionally went by the name by his family as “Jimmy,” he was predeceased by his parents and siblings, Franklin, Marshall, Henry, Joe, Harry Richardson, Lillian Windsor, Margaret Kingsley, Lucille Boswell and Ruth Bruce.
Having been married to his late wife Mary Helen Peterson - Richardson of over 39 years he is survived by their son James E. Richardson, Jr. and daughter-in-law, son Michael Howard Richardson, and daughter, Theresa Louise Wilson, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving wife of over 22 years, Valerie Graham - Richardson, along with her son John Ardovini and daughter Marisa DiMuzio, son and daughter-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 24, 2023 at 11am at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1601 W Mt. Harmony Road, Owings, MD 20736 https://ccjgs.org/. Following Mass, interment will immediately follow at the Church Cemetery. There will be no viewing or repass.
