November 12, 1945 — May 18, 2024

Jennie Lynne Sullivan was born on November 12, 1945 in the nation's capital, Washington, D.C., to parents Florence Ethel Wooten and Daniel Aloysius Sullivan. As a young girl, Jennie's family moved around the greater D.C. area, with her growing up in the nearby suburbs of Arlington, Virginia as well as the distinct neighborhoods of Georgetown and Southeast D.C. It was in the latter area that Jennie attended and graduated from Ballou High School. After her schooling, Jennie embarked on a varied professional career, finding employment with organizations like the the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Airline Pilots Association in addition to working at various car dealerships. Jennie's personal life was defined by her long-term partnership of 37 years with her late companion, Joyce Houchens their son Joseph Houchens. Following Joyce's passing, Jennie moved in with her son Joseph, his husband Curtis King, and their two daughters Jordyn and Alexis, who Jennie considered to be her "guardian angels" in her final years. Jennie is survived by her sister Mary Wilson and brother James Sullivan and their children and great grandchildren, though she was predeceased by her older sister Helen Woodford and her parents. Those who knew Jennie remember her as a loving and beloved figure, with a quick temper balanced by an even quicker, warm smile.
